We faced big wins and losses on election night.

Mayor Andrew Gillum, delivered an emotional promise to his supporters after conceding to his opponent, Ron DeSantis and reminded  Floridians that he isn’t going anywhere and the fight continues.

Georgia gubernatorial candidates Stacey Abrams, and Brian Kemp are still in a tight race. Polls have Kemp leading 51 to 48 percent but abrams vowed to keep fighting.

In Florida, more than 1.4 million formerly incarcerated people got their right to vote back. One estimate says this impacts 40 percent of Black men across the state.

Women of color won big in races across the country! Ilhan Omar is the first Muslim woman elected to Congress and Ayanna Pressley is the first Black congresswoman in Massachusetts. Former national teacher of the year Jahana Hayes became the first Black women from Connecticut elected to the U.S. House.

Congratulations to these trailblazers!
