Less than a week after a California high school teacher who was arrested for fighting with one of his students, evidence of another teacher vs. student altercation has made headlines.
According to Newsweek, the cell phone clip was filmed Wednesday at Frederick Douglass High School in the Baltimore City Public Schools district and shows an agitated student punching a Baltimore high school teacher in the face.
The student is restrained at the door of a classroom, but then reaches out and strikes the teacher on the left side of the head.
“F*** is you talking about?” the student can be heard saying. “Don’t f***ing get smart with me, straight up.”
“I didn’t get smart with you,” replies the teacher as she follows the student out of the classroom.
The video received tens of thousands of views on Instagram in under 24 hours. While school officials didn’t name any of those involved, they did confirm that the incident took place.
“School administrators at Frederick Douglass High School continue to investigate a physical altercation that took place today when a teacher was struck by a student following a verbal exchange,” Edie House Foster, with Baltimore City Public Schools, explained in a statement sent to local news outlet CBS Baltimore.
“Ensuring a safe teaching and learning environment for our students and staff is paramount to City Schools. Upon reviewing the incident, administrators will apply disciplinary action in accordance with Baltimore City Public Schools’ Code of Conduct.”

Icsha Flowers, a parent of a child at the school, was appalled by the video.
“That’s a mess, that right there, that’s just not cool,” said Flowers. “These kids today are out of control. See mine right there? Wouldn’t have never happened.”
