Day 17: Rec from Bookstagrammer
This book has been recommended to me by so many people. The cover is haunting to say the least. I’m looking forward to it but I’m afraid it’s going to make me mad as hell. Thanks to @prettybrowneyereader @musical_tati and @jerseyfemme for recommending this one to me. Promise I will get to it this year.
What’s it about?
When the seventh child of the Peace family, named Perfect, turns eight, her mother Emma Jean tells her bewildered daughter, “You was born a boy. I made you a girl. But that ain’t what you was supposed to be. So, from now on, you gon’ be a boy. It’ll be a little strange at first, but you’ll get used to it, and this’ll be over after while.”
