It’s been an eventful year for hip-hop legends the Wu-Tang Clan.
In May, their birthplace of Staten Island (A.K.A “Shaolin”) honored the rap collective by naming an intersection in the New York City borough after them, officially making it the Wu-Tang Clan District.
In September, Hulu premiered the 10-episode Wu-Tang: An American Saga, telling the story of their early formation in the 90s, and introducing; The RZA, The GZA, Ol Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghost Face Killer and the M-E-T-H-O-D Man.
And of course, the groundbreaking debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.
So what better way to cap it off than with plans for get this: An amusement park in South Korea.
According to Mass Live, that could become a possibility if Jimmy Kang, Vice President for Wu-Tang Management has his way. His job is to oversee the various projects under the Wu-Tan umbrella including Wu-Tang Radio, Wu-Tang DJ Coalition, and Protect Ya Neck records and distribution.
Kang is now negotiating with officials in Seoul to open a Wu-Tang theme park. It’s unclear when it would open, or even what it would look like and if it comes to fruition, the group could be the first in hip hop with a theme park constructed around their ethos.
“[My father] always told me, if you’re going to do something,” said Kang, who came to the United States from South Korea when he was just four years old. “Do it to your fullest potential, don’t half-ass it or you’re just wasting time.”
Meanwhile, in other Wu-Tang news, there’s a new development with the single copy album, “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin,” made by the group and sold to now-convicted hedge fund manager Martin Shkreli for $2 million.

Apparently comedian Joe Rogan podcast said on his podcast that he wants to buy it off of Shkreli in order to leak it online, according to Hotnewhiphop.com. While speaking to RZA on the show, the two talked about ways to get it heard by the public. “That guy’s gotta be broke… is there a way I can buy that off him,” Rogan asked. “Or release it with you [RZA]. But that, sitting there, makes no sense to me. That box looks dope. When you get out Martin, holla at your boy.”
Still it may be a while before Shkreli is able to think about that. On Monday, the Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal of his 2017 securities fraud conviction, CNBC reports.
