A security guard in Michigan, who humiliated and falsely accused a black woman of stealing, has been abruptly fired from Target.

The security guard along with another guard targeted 20-year-old Ashanae Davis, handcuffed and dragged her through the retail store after accusing her of stealing a bikini set, reports The Daily Beast.

Davis’ lawyer said the men proclaimed loudly through the store that she was stealing and then took her to a room where they strip-searched her. Davis was allegedly forced to pull up her shirt and pull down her pants to prove that she didn’t have any stolen goods stored. There were two male guards and a female manager present.

Davis said she felt “humiliated and forced” by the Target staffers.

Target issued an apology and said only one guard was relieved of his job following the incident.

“We’re sorry for the actions of our former team member, who created an experience we don’t want any guest to have at Target,” it said. “Upon reviewing our team’s actions, we terminated the team member who was directly involved.”

Should we add a #TargetedAtTarget hashtag to the slew of #LivingWhileBlack hashtags we’ve accumulated over the past year?

It’s a sad reality as stories and videos continue to flood our timelines and inboxes it’s become evident that Black folks will be badgered and bothered on a constant basis by white folks looking to get all up in our business.

Some way, somehow, our skin color has become an offensive front that requires white people to insert their opinions, question our right to be anywhere and even call the police over the most mundane of activities. We’ve been forced on several occasions to open up cans of whoop ass by way of calling the cops on them. I won’t say America’s racial climate is at an all-time high because we know of days of old, but with cases piling up there does seem to be an increase in these incidents of #LivingWhileBlack.
