To celebrate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s birth, a museum in Fabriano, Italy, has secured a loan of a painting by the artist from the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. The painting is one of only 15 that scholars accept are by da Vinci. [The Art Newspaper]

Miami Beach has spent $7 million on public art as part of a planned makeover of the city’s convention center. “The idea of having significant pieces of art really makes [the city] a destination for people who want to meet, and part of something that’s uniting,” Miami Beach’s mayor, Dan Gelber, said.
