Two days before HBO is set to air a controversial documentary on two men who claim they were allegedly sexually abused by Michael Jackson as boys, the late singer’s Neverland Ranch is back on the market at a fraction of the 2015 asking price, The Wall Street Journal is reporting.
The $31 million listing price for the sprawling property where Jackson lived before his death in June 2009 at age 50 marks a 70% markdown from the $100 million asking price four years ago.
In 2017, after the property spent two years on the market, the sellers switched agents and the price was slashed to $67 million, according to the Journal.

Agents said that the asking price as well as natural disasters in the area have affected sale of the 2,700-acre property, which Jackson bought in 1987 for $19.5 million, CNN reported.
“A price tag of $100 million is not chump change,” agent Suzanne Perkins told the Journal.
In addition, wildfires and mudslides kept the property off the market for about 15 years, according to agent Kyle Forsyth.
“Everyone pulled back for about a year in general,” Forsyth said.
The property that includes the 12,000-square-foot house where Jackson lived and also overdosed on drugs typically used for anesthesia is taking center stage in the two-part Leaving Neverland documentary. In the film that debuted at Sundance, Wade Robson and James Safechuck allege that Jackson sexually abused them when they were children.

A lawyer for the Jackson estate alleges that the two men are lying and also faults HBO for not interviewing members of the Jackson family.
The Jackson has vehemently denied the allegations and told Gayle King of CBS that when the late pop star shared his bedroom, it was innocent.
After the Sunday night airing of HBO’s documentary, Oprah Winfrey’s interview with the two men before an audience of sexual abuse survivors will be broadcast her the Oprah Winfrey Network.
