Culture Shifting Weekend New York 2020 (CSW NYC) is an annual conclave produced by Culture Shift Labs (CSL), a diversity and innovation management consultancy focused on diversity, equity and inclusion and ESG outcomes. Created to narrow the inequality gap in the venture capital sector, this event presents a much-needed opportunity for leading companies and investors to meet, vet, and invest in the fast-growing ecosystem of venture funds managed by Black and Latinx founders. The Weekend offers institutional investors, social impact investors, angel investors, corporate venturers, and the investment community-at-large, direct engagement with the burgeoning Black and Latinx venture capital general partners (GPs). The goal of this invite-only event is to increase limited partner (LP) capital flowing to this vast and growing ecosystem. There are more than 300 Black and Latinx GPs currently seeking the right partners and paths forward for their funds. To date, the Culture Shifting Weekend has enabled over $150M in investments in Black and Latinx VCs who have attended past CSW NYC events.

CSL’s annual three-day Culture Shifting Weekend NYC, going virtual this year, is title sponsored by Samsung NEXT, and will feature many established and ascending GPs, while offering an inside look at the current state of this niche asset class: what trends are emerging, what partnering models are working, and what deals are getting done.

“CSL has built the largest database of Black- and Latinx-owned venture capital firms (more than 300) that seek the right partners. Historical lack of awareness of this community has limited companies’ ability to access new revenue streams, co-investment opportunities, competitive advantages, acquisitions, and initiatives that can propel their businesses forward. Our event fills this unique and unmet need in the marketplace,” said Andrea Hoffman, Founder and CEO of Culture Shift Labs.
