A new documentary called “Killer Curves: Bodies To Die For” will delve into the dark side of women altering their appearance to get the perfect body on the black market.

Outrage after video of police officer’s brutal arrest of 13-year-old boy and his little sister goes viral ‘I’m about to send this kid to the hospital!’

The BET documentary is produced and narrated by Power star LaLa Anthony.

The provocative documentary “investigates the increasingly popular and sometimes fatal trend that is globally impacting the lives of many women of color: black market cosmetic surgery,” reports Shadow and Act.

The official network description says: “For decades, the ideal female body type was said to be tall and thin. In recent years however, the rise of video vixens and reality TV stars have redefined and influenced that image in a profound way. Today, thousands of women are resorting to risky body modifications to emulate the exaggerated curves of the hottest pop culture female figures. The documentary features a range of voices, including recording artist K. Michelle, who discusses how her struggle with body image pushed her to repeat the procedure several times in a quest for perfection.

K. Michelle has been on a roller coaster ride of health issues as a result of illegal injections and now she’s telling the world her scary story in hopes other women won’t follow in her footsteps.

“Now we know the outcome of these [injections]. Before it was up in the air, but now we know the outcome, that your body cannot handle foreign objects in it,” she told PEOPLE.

The 34-year-old singer/reality star went under the knife in hopes of achieving the perfect figure. “I wanted to look like a Coke bottle,” she said of the breast augmentation as well as the procedure to transfer fat from her belly to her butt. She sought out a man who would inject silicone into her backside and hips.

“He wasn’t a doctor—it was black market, it was these ‘hydrogel’ injections — that’s what they were being called,” she recalled. “When I found out my favorite rapper did it, that’s when I decided, ‘I’m getting it done.’ ”

The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star says everything was fine for about five years until she started suffering from migraines, fatigue and pain in her legs and back.

After realizing the ailments were a result of the injections, another doctor recommended liposuction as a treatment option.

“He thought that you could go and suck it out, but it spread it…It’s definitely a new procedure, so he didn’t know,” she explained. After the procedure, K. Michelle ended up n the emergency room and needed two blood transfusions.

K. Michelle will discuss more about her journey when the documentary airs Wednesday, August 8 at 10 p.m.
