Repatriation

The University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Museum has returned fragments of 387 clay tablets dating between 2100 and 2000 BCE to Iraq’s embassy in Washington, D.C. The tablets were excavated from 1922 to 1934 as part of efforts sponsored by the Penn Museum and the British Museum. [The Art Newspaper]

Stamatina Gregory, who most recently served as associate dean at Cooper Union in New York, will be the first director of curatorial programs at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art.
