Christie’s has tapped Katsura Yamaguchi, its current senior vice president, international director in its Asian art department, as the managing director of the auction house’s Japan outpost. In 2017, Yamaguchi spearheaded a sale of Japanese and Chinese art from the Fujita museum in Osaka, Japan.

His appointment was announced alongside news that Amy Wexler is now Christie’s chief marketing officer. She has previously been the deputy marketing officer and, before that, a part of the auction house’s business development team. Both Yamaguchi and Wexler began their work with Christie’s in the 1990s—with Yamaguchi having started in 1992, and Wexler in 1996.
