The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles has brought on Keishia Gu as head of eduction. Gu, who starts in her new position next month, joins the Getty following 20 years working as a teacher at various schools and universities, most recently serving as the director of admissions and enrollment at the Geffen Academy at UCLA.

Lisa Clements, the Getty’s assistant director of education, public programs, and interpretive content, said in a statement, “Keishia excels at connecting high-level strategic planning, processes, and partnerships to very individual educational outcomes of access, inquiry, and growth. Her thoughtful approach is a good match for the quality and character of our educational programs, which span kindergarten through University institutional initiatives, teen programs, and on-site education for school groups and visitors.”

At the Getty, Gu will be responsible for educational efforts within both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. In a statement, she said, “For 15 years, I have called Los Angeles my home. I could not be more delighted to be joining the Getty Museum.”
