EBONY caught up with the cast of Dear White People on the red carpet while attending the Season Two screening premiere of their Netflix series held at ArcLight Cinemas on Wednesday (May 2) in Hollywood.
Since the satirical comedy-drama chronicles the lives of Black college students on a predominately white campus, we decided to ask various cast members their opinion on Kanye West’s slavery comments. Like many other Black celebrities who have spoken out the cast collectively expressed their disappointment in the musical icon.
Actors like John Patrick Amedori (Gabe) and Antoinette Robertson (Coco) spoke about how TMZ staff member, Van Lathan’s response to West’s harmful comment was spot on.
Watch the video above to hear reactions from the cast. Season Two of Netflix’s Dear White People premieres on May 4.
