Before being banned, rapper, Talib Kweli, was last seen on Twitter in a cyber-fight with a Black woman named Maya Angelique Moody.

Now after been banned from Twitter, the Black Star rapper has found another social media home in the Patreon platform.

The argument stemmed from a post made on July 9 by Nigel D, that listed rappers who had Black wives. Kweli and his wife DJ EQue were listed among the names. Some of the other names listed were big-name emcees such as Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Will Smith, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Ludacris. Moody responded, noting that hardly any of the wives were dark-skinned.

“Literally almost all of them [Black rappers] are married to light-skinned women…,” she tweeted. In the tweet which caused Kweli to respond.

On July 10, Kweli replied to the tweet, “Nah let’s have this convo today. Are we talking all of my relationships? My children’s mother as well? Or are you only talking about who you think I’m currently in a relationship right now? I mean, is any of this really any of your business?”

The two went back-and-forth for what the 24-year-old Black woman alleges was “12 hours straight.”

In an exchange that not only got nastier and nastier by the day but also seemed to involve more and more people, the website Jezebel shared that both sides were playing pretty dirty. On Moody’s part, she posted a picture of Kweli’s unborn child’s mother as her header, mentioning details about their relationship. Kweli then alleges that he had been doxxed and his private phone number was released to the public.

As a result of this action, he received threats from someone championing Moody to his mother and children and posted those text messages on Twitter. While the People’s Party host thought that this would show that he too is being harrassed, Twitter saw this as a violation of their policy and banned him.

According to Jezebel, Kweli has been indefinitely suspended from Twitter due to continuous violations of the site’s rules.

“Violence, harassment and other similar types of behavior discourage people from expressing themselves, and ultimately diminish the value of global public conversation,” wrote Twitter.

“Our rules are to ensure all people can participate in the public conversation freely and safely,” Twitter’s statement continued.

His account’s termination was due to the violations of Twitter’s guidelines on abusive behavior and sharing private information when he shared the threatening posts — and shared the phone number for the public to see.

Moody alleges that after her online battle with the rapper, photos of her family and other private information has leaked by Twitter accounts. She also received threats of sexual abuse and death threats from defenders of Kweli, reported Jezebel.

She did not provide proof that Kweli leaked any of this information, though she did admit to posting the pregnant girlfriend’s private picture without permission.

The website reports that while laughing about making her Twitter header the actual photograph of the once unknown pregnant woman, she said, “After I already blocked [him] and told [him] to stop and leave me alone and [he] did not… yes, I did. I sure did. And I am not sorry.”

Kweli, though no longer allowed on Twitter, continued with an hour-long video on Instagram. The rapper said he wouldn’t stop speaking on Moody unless she apologized or deleted her account.

“I’ve never cyber harassed anyone in my life. I responded, on Twitter, to the lies that Maya posted about me. When you respond to someone who posts lies about you, that is not harassment,” said Kweli in a statement to Jezebel.

According to Kweli’s Instagram post, he will be using Paetron, a paid membership-based social platform, from here on out.

While Talib Kweli is officially off of Twitter, it does not mean that there is a cease-fire.

The rapper has posted on his Instagram over the last few days information about ADOS (the American Descendants of Slavery, an organization that has become an ally to Moody) and a picture of his friends — taking a shot at some of the press reporting on the cyber-war to “check their sources.”

Moody has posted the following Tweets on her profile. On one post, she alleges that Kweli is alleged targeting of the writer of the Jezebel article and talking about her, and in another one, she has reposted an allegation from Jaguar Wright that the two of them were in an adulterous affair.

TheGrio.com did attempt to locate the live that he allegedly spoke about the writer and Ms. Moody.
