Ray J tells Wendy Williams his public spat with his wife, Princess Love, was his fault

Ray J was on the hot seat yesterday during a taping of The Wendy Williams Show.

The “Hot Topic host” questioned Ray, amongst other things, about his relationship with wife, Princess Love, why he was caught in a recent photo without his wedding ring, and whether they enjoy an open marriage. After a recent spat, Love took to social media to accuse Ray J of leaving her and their daughter, Melody, “stranded” in Las Vegas – something he adamantly denies. Love, who stars in Love & Hip Hop Hollywood with her husband, also said she didn’t want to be married anymore.

But a lot can change in the span of two weeks.

The 38-year-old rapper fawned over his boo thang looking directly into the camera and saying, “I love you baby! If you’re watching, I love you, I’ll be home soon.”

Princess Love is pregnant with their second child, a boy, due next month, according to Hollywood Life.

Williams didn’t hesitate once the show started, asking Ray J if he left his pregnant wife and their toddler daughter stranded in Vegas after the Soul Train Music Awards, and also whether or not he boldly blocked her on social media.

“No, I would never,” Ray J responded adamantly, according to Hollywood Life. “I love you Princess and again look it didn’t happen like that. I would never leave my baby and my wife. I would die first before I leave them.”

Ray J said that day, he and Love had gotten into an argument over where to buy a house. He wanted to buy in Vegas while she wanted to stay in LA. He stressed that Love and Melody were inside of a hotel and not “stranded.”

“That’s what she considers stranded,” he offered. Before igniting even more ire, he quickly said he was still wrong for blowing a fuse and leaving the room. “But look, she’s right, I’m not even going to defend it. I was wrong,” Ray J told Williams.

“I have to compromise and do better. I have to … understand that my wife is pregnant and I have to think a little more wiser.”

As far as the willingness to be in an open marriage, Ray J says he’s not getting down like that.

“It would never be like that. I would never get married if it wasn’t super locked between us,” said Ray J “What we have to work on is keeping our circle tight with just me her and our baby.”

That doesn’t, however, explain the photo that made its rounds showing him at the airport sans his wedding ring?

“My hands were ashy. I had to put some lotion on,” Ray J offered. “When I got up to the gate, I didn’t have any lotion and boom, right there, they got the picture.”
