On Saturday, Tatyana Hargrove was arrested and charged with food tampering after managers reportedly saw a video of the employee “intentionally” tinkering with the food meant for an officer on Nov. 12, KBAK-TV reported.

No word on what Hargrove actually did to the food, but it was enough to get her charged under California law for “willfully mingling any poison or harmful substance with any food, drink, medicine or pharmaceutical product.”

According to the outlet, Hargrove had some issues with officers after she lost an excessive force lawsuit against the Bakersfield police involving two cops.

According to the 2017 suit, Hargrove was roughed up by two cops and thrown to the ground in a case of mistaken identity. They were supposed to be looking for a male after responding to a report of a person threatening others with a machete.

Hargrove was also reportedly bit by a police dog and punched in the face. Police caught the correct suspect later on. But even with those circumstances a jury sided with the department, the Bakersfield Californian reported.

Bakersfield Police Chief Lyle Martin tried to make amends and apologized saying he would ensure that his department does better in the future.

The tainted food was given to an officer with the Bakersfield Police Department. There’s no word if it was the cop involved with Hargrove’s case.

The owner of the Bakersfield McDonald’s franchise Jim Abbate condemned the incident, calling it “disturbing.”

“I want to ensure our customers and law enforcement that the behavior exhibited by the individual involved in this incident does not represent my values nor those of my McDonald’s business,” Abbate said. “When we found out about this disturbing incident, we quickly notified the police. We are cooperating with their investigation and want law enforcement to know they are always welcome at McDonald’s.”

Hargrove was bailed out of jail the same day she was booked.
