A Michigan family is mourning after a horrific murder shattered their lives. Six-year-old Tai’raz Moore was shot and killed execution-style along with his father’s girlfriend in the basement of a home in Warren, Michigan, People reports.

“You took my baby,” Moore’s mother, Brittany Thompson, told Fox2 Detroit. “You took my life. How you killed him was so disgusting. You have no conscience.”
The last time she talked to her son, he’d told her he was excited by losing his first tooth.
Police in Warren say they were led to the home where the murders took place last Thursday after being alerted by the Detroit police department who found the body of Moore’s father, Tukoyo Moore, 31, in the back of a torched car. Moore had also been shot. After getting a search warrant for the home located in a quiet residential neighborhood, authorities made the grisly discovery.
Moore’s girlfriend Isis Rimson, 28, was also found dead. Both Tai’raz and Rimson were shot multiple times in the back of the head.
“Only monsters or godless creatures would pull the trigger on a 6-year-old and execute the child,” Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said to People.
Money and narcotics were also found at the location, which leads police to believe the murder was drug-related.
At this time, there are no suspects although police believe that more than one person was likely involved in the murders. They are investigating including reviewing area surveillance tapes and interviewing “family, friends and known associates,” police say.
Tai’raz’s grandmother, Maurie Thompson, set up a GoFundMe to help pay for his funeral.
“He will be dearly missed our hearts are broken and souls empty without him,” she wrote.
Michigan has no death penalty but Dwyer says that he hopes to get the federal government involved in the case.

“If we bring the federal authorities in, we may be asking for the death penalty for the person or persons responsible. I’m not saying we are at this point,” Dwyer said at a press conference reported by Detroit’s Fox 2 News. When reporters asked him to clarify what federal involvement would mean, Dwyer added, “When you murder a 6-year-old innocent baby, the person or persons responsible deserve the death penalty.”
