X Games Shanghai closed out with a another day filled with Skateboard, BMX and Moto X competitions, along with musical performances and interactive activities including drone and go cart racing in X Fest.
The action kicked off with BMX Street, where American Garrett Reynolds reclaimed his spot atop the podium and earned his 10th gold in the discipline and 13th medal overall. Reynolds threw down a toboggan 360 and truckdriver, both over the dragon feature on the course, along with a downside 180 tailwhip to fakie and a hopover smith grind on the rainbow rail. Reynolds edged out German rider Felix Prangenberg (85.00) who took silver, and X Games Minneapolis gold medalist Chad Kerley (84.00) took home the bronze.
After Aussie Jarryd McNeil won the last seven Moto X Whip competitions, it was Frenchman Tom Pages who took the top spot at X Games Shanghai, his second medal of the weekend following his bronze in Moto X Best Trick on Day 1.
American Nyjah Huston once again took the top spot in Men’s Skateboard Street, also marking his 10th gold medal in the discipline. Huston took it down to the wire, outscoring the field on the final run of competition with tricks, including a kickflip frontside boardslide and an epic nollie kickflip nosebluntslide down the rail by the dragon feature. Huston already holds the records for most X Games Skateboard Street gold and most X Games Skateboard Street medals overall, and he’s now climbing the list for most gold in a single discipline at X Games. Fellow American Dashawn Jordan took silver (91.66), his first-ever X Games medal, while Japan’s Yuto Horigome, the top athlete in yesterday’s elimination competition, took bronze (90.00).
Competition closed out with Trey Wood taking home his first-ever gold in Skateboard Big Air with a never-before-seen body varial 720 over the gap and an 18-foot varial 540 on the quarterpipe. Wood, 18, took back-to-back bronze at X Games Minneapolis and X Games Sydney, and was only 11 years old when he began competing at X Games in Los Angeles. Brazilian Rony Gomes took silver (89.00) and American Clay Kreiner added bronze (85.66) to his collection.
Following competition, musical performances took place in X Fest, with artists VaVa, Chang Chen Yue and MC HotDog.
