Directed by Jared Hess (Nacho Libre), the Minecraft Movie live-action adaptation is set to hit theaters next year. Starring Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers (Wednesday), and Jennifer Coolidge, the film follows four misfit characters—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks). They’re unexpectedly transported through a portal into Minecraft’s iconic Overworld, a dazzling cubic land filled with Piglins, Zombies, and endless opportunities for creativity. With help from expert crafter Steve (Black), the group must embrace their imaginations to survive the challenges of this world and make their way back home.
The movie brings a dynamic creative team, including Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon (The Jungle Book), BAFTA-nominated cinematographer Enrique Chediak (127 Hours), and composer Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok).
