As a host on the Black carpet, I needed the perfect look for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. I needed a wig that looked as good as the celebrities I would be interviewing without spending the same coin. That’s when I remembered Unice had sent me their new Magic Lace Wig to try. Perfect timing.
I’m not a wig amateur, but I know my strengths. I appreciate that Unice’s wigs come prepared for a glueless and seamless install (even though I often glue down my wigs for special events like a carpet). If you’re like me, the first part of my wig that goes is the lace hairline, which is from me constantly tugging, and adjusting it in addition to natural wear and tear from parting and styling. The beauty of Unice’s magic wig is you can detach the 7×5 closure piece and replace it when it starts to shed or if you just want to switch up your wig without purchasing an entire new unit. All wigs eventually shed, and at the affordable starting price point of $119, it’s worth it. And, the replacement closure (150% density) is even cheaper at $89.
Even Ayra Starr complimented my look on the carpet, reassuring me this wig is budget-friendly and fab! The way this hair was bouncing and behaving and serving a bit of yaki texture, it was a standout as I walked to my place on the carpet.
Unice’s Magic Lace Wig comes with a detachable closure that is secured by a velcro strip. At first I thought, there’s no way this design doesn’t cause a bulky appearance. To my surprise, it was just as flat as my regular Unice wig. It’s literally one wig with multiple style options.

My VMAs look required me to cut bangs into my wig, which is a commitment I would have felt more stressful about until I realized, I could easily detach and swap out the closure for another look as soon as I was done. And I did.
