COURTESY THE ARTISTS

New York’s Tribeca Film Festival has named this year’s participants in its Artist Award Program, for which artists of all kinds give examples of their work to the filmmakers who win awards at the festival. Ten artists will participate in the program this year; among them are Ghada Amer, Nancy Dwyer, Joan Sndyer, and Julia Wachtel. The artists were chosen by Sandra Gering, who closed her New York gallery last year.

“Tribeca has always been about artists supporting one another, and these awards embody that spirit,” Jane Rosenthal, the CEO, executive chair, and cofounder of Tribeca Enterprises, said in a statement.
