Tigers Make First Visit to Austin Since 1954; College GameDay Built by The Home Depot Sets the Scene
Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor will be in Austin, Texas, for the top 10 showdown between the Tigers and Longhorns at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. For LSU, the trip will be its first visit to Austin since 1954 and represents just the third meeting between the two schools since Texas’ victory that year. College GameDay Built by The Home Depot (9 a.m. – noon) will begin the day from Austin, setting up inside the LBJ Lawn.
Note: Davis calls the game for Chris Fowler, who will be calling ESPN’s final weekend coverage of the US Open.
Texas A&M-Clemson in a Rematch of the 2018 Classic
Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe will be at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C., as the Aggies and Tigers face off in a rematch of last year’s instant classic. In that showdown, Clemson took a 28-13 lead into the fourth quarter, only to see the home squad nearly tie the game, missing on a two-point conversion with under a minute to go and resulting in a 28-26 Tiger victory. The SEC-ACC showdown will mark Texas A&M’s third ever visit to Clemson.
ABC begins the day with No. 5 Ohio State hosting Cincinnati (noon), the schools’ 17th all-time meeting. The Buckeyes come into the game riding an 11-game winning streak. For Bearcat head coach Luke Fickell, the game will mark a return to Ohio State, where he was a standout player and later an assistant coach for more than 15 seasons. Bob Wischusen, Dan Orlovsky, and Allison Williams will be in Ohio Stadium.
