London metropolitan police say they believe a “number of people” have been injured in a stabbing near London Bridge on Friday. One man has been shot and detained by police.

On Twitter, London’s Metropolitan Police police say they were called at 1:58 p.m. local time (8:58 a.m. ET) to a stabbing near London Bridge.

Police say the circumstances relating to the incident are “unclear,” and that they are responding “as though it is terror-related,” as a precaution.

London Bridge is a busy area of the city which houses several restaurants, bars and businesses. A terror attack on the bridge in 2017 killed several people.
