Sephora is set to close all its U.S. stores today for one hour to hold
“inclusion workshops” for 16,000 employees, according to the Associated Press (AP). The beauty chain specified that the training was planned before the racial profiling incident with rapper SZA earlier this year.

In April, singer and Fenty Beauty spokesmodel SZA accused a Sephora in Calabasas, California, of racial profiling. On April 29, @SZA tweeted, “Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing . We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy”. Sephora responded the following day with a conciliatory tweet.

Sephora has provided little information about the diversity workshops and has declined to share details of the program and who would be conducting the training.
