Following successful showings in Atlanta throughout 2018 SEC Media Days, SEC Network will welcome radio standouts Marty & McGee and SEC This Morning to its fall studio show lineup starting the week of Sept. 3.
Capitalizing on the popular ESPN Radio show by the same name, Marty & McGee will come to SEC Network every Thursday evening this fall, with the duo meeting at the crossroads of southern culture and college football. Their initial foray into television was a successful one that transcended the TV show and dominated social media. Thanks to Marty Smith and Ryan McGee, America wanted to know what side you stood on: biscuits or cornbread? The duo will also team up to contribute insight during SEC Network’s first football game of the 2018 season, as Texas A&M hosts Northwestern State on Thursday, Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
SEC This Morning, hosted by SEC Network anchor Peter Burns and former LSU All-American and co-host of Thinking Out Loud Marcus Spears, will be simulcast on SEC Network live on Monday mornings from 7 – 10 a.m. The show, which airs live weekday mornings on Sirius XM, delves into all things SEC, with all the headlines, highlights and hijinks from around the conference. A sampling of fan-favorite segments and conversations during SEC Media Days included “Thweft,” “Shirt Shenanigans,” “Steve Shaw: HOA President,” “Do You Mow Your Lawn?” and more.
“The impact both Marty & McGee and SEC This Morning had on our viewers this summer during SEC Media Days was undeniable,” said Chris Turner, SEC Network Senior Director of Programming. “Within the first couple of days we were set up in Atlanta, we knew we had hits on our hands and needed to find a way to get these shows in our fall lineup. What fans will see from SEC Network this fall is a commitment to giving our viewers access to their favorite teams from every vantage point possible.”
In addition to these two radio shows stepping into the football fold, SEC Network returns its full fall roster of studio show programming in 2018:
- SEC Inside Presented by Bass Pro Shops (Returns Monday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.)
Taking viewers onto the practice field and into the locker room, SEC Inside features SEC Network crews spending time with different Southeastern Conference teams as they prepare for their respective matchups. The show, shot in cinematic style, delivers new vantage points and exclusive sound from coaches and sidelines. This week’s show features a full camp recap from all 14 SEC teams. SEC Inside Presented by Bass Pro Shops airs regularly on Wednesday nights throughout the fall. - SEC Film Room (Returns Monday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m.)
SEC Film Room returns for its fifth season on Monday, Aug. 27, breaking down the Xs and Os with Southeastern Conference head coaches. The show is hosted by college football analyst and former Georgia offensive lineman, Matt Stinchcomb, who was announced earlier this year as a 2018 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame. This week, Stinchcomb sits down with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart. SEC Film Room airs regularly on Wednesday nights throughout the fall. - SEC Nation (Debuts Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. | Saturday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m.)
SEC Network’s traveling pregame show, SEC Nation, is kicking off its fifth season in style with a jam-packed weekend that features two stops in less than 48 hours. On Thursday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. ET, SEC Nation Presented by Dr Pepper will surround the start of the Jimbo Fisher era as Texas A&M hosts Northwestern State at Kyle Field, before SEC Nation Presented by AT&T heads to Romare Bearden Park in Charlotte, N.C. to highlight the Belk College Kickoff between West Virginia and Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 1. SEC Network will also debut Pop-Up Nation on Friday nights across SEC Network and ESPN social platforms. The show, featuring Laura Rutledge, Marcus Spears and Tim Tebow, will be a quick preview of the weekend ahead, and will feature special guests joining the trio from the SEC Nation - Thinking Out Loud Presented by Regions Bank (Returns Monday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m.)
Greg McElroy and Marcus Spears had a hit on their hands last fall with their new football talk show, Thinking Out Loud. The show relies on the two analysts’ viewpoints having played on opposite sides of the ball throughout their collegiate and professional careers. Fans are encouraged to tweet @SECNetwork with their opinions throughout the show, as McElroy and Spears, along with SEC Network newcomer Alyssa Lang, keep the dialogue going between signature segments such as ‘Fansplaining,’ ‘Surfing the Web,’ ‘Come @ Me,’ ‘Big Man on Campus’ and ‘You Mad, Bro?’ - SEC Featured Presented by Belk (Returns Monday, Sept. 10 at 8 p.m.)
Hosted by Alyssa Lang, SEC Featured Presented by Belk is a weekly wrap-up of the week’s SEC Network features across all studio show programming. The program provides fans the opportunity to see the storylines beyond the sidelines.
Each show on SEC Network’s fall schedule will re-air multiple times on SEC Network and across ESPN’s networks, and select studio shows will be available on demand on the ESPN App.
