SEATTLE ART MUSEUM
Over the past few months, we’ve seen museums close because of wildfires, political brinkmanship, and extreme cold. Now it’s a snowstorm causing trouble. With forecasts suggesting that Seattle could get around six inches of snow on Friday and Saturday, some art museums in the area announced that they would shut their doors.
The Seattle Art Museum said on Friday morning that it would close at noon, and the Henry Art Gallery said that it would be closed all of Friday and Saturday.
A rep for the Frye Art Museum said that it would close at 1 p.m. and, as of right now, was planning to be closed on Saturday, as well. (Hopefully it will be closed no longer than that because the great Tschabalala Self recently opened a show there, and one would not want to be deprived of that.)
Happily, though, the Chihuly Garden and Glass, which is devoted to the work of local legend Dale Chihuly, was still planning to be open, so those who are craving art will not be left without options.
