Disgraced music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and kidnapping, according to official documents unsealed on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
According to TMZ, the Bad Boy Records founder has been charged with 3 counts – racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy was taken into custody Monday evening in Manhattan. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said at the time:
We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sean “Diddy” Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community.
He is an imperfect person but is not criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.
Starting in 2008, members of the Combs enterprise allegedly engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, and prostitution activities. They are also accused of narcotics offenses, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
The indictment alleges that Combs used his global entertainment empire to preserve his power and fulfill his desires, especially when it comes to sexual gratification, including through exploiting women and using commercial sex workers.
Combs allegedly lured women under the pretense of a romantic relationship. He then used force or coercion to have his victims engage in various sex acts with male sex workers. These incidents are commonly referred to as “freak-offs.”
The indictment does not include the details of the kidnapping, arson, and bribery allegations, other than they occurred in California.
As for the narcotics charges, they allegedly include the intent to distribute cocaine, oxycodone, date rape drug GHB and other substances.
Various narcotics were seized during the raids at Diddy’s Miami and LA homes back in March, along with more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant. Firearms were also recovered, including 3 AR-15s with defaced serial numbers and a drum machine.
Allegations of violence against women are also mentioned in the indictment. This includes the highly-publicized March 2016 incident of Diddy attacking ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura inside an LA hotel.
Furthermore, prosecutors say in late 2023, Combs and his associates tried to pressure victims and witnesses to stay silent, including using attempted bribes.
Diddy is set to appear before the judge Tuesday morning. If convicted, he faces decades in prison.
Combs has been the subject of multiple allegations and lawsuits over the past few months. Back in November, his ex-girlfriend, singer/model Cassie, filed a lawsuit, claiming that the mogul raped and abused her throughout their decade-long relationship. That lawsuit was settled out of court, but several more victims came forward with their own allegations.
Recently, former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard filed against her former boss with her own allegations of abuse. Meanwhile, a Michigan inmate recently won a $100 million default judgment after Combs failed to respond to his lawsuit, claiming that the mogul drugged and raped him in 1997.
This is a developing story.
