Ruby City, a new museum in San Antonio, Texas, devoted to the collection of the late artist and collector Linda Pace, has set its inaugural program for a planned opening in a David Adjaye-designed building in October. Three exhibitions—two group shows titled “Waking Dream” and ” Jewels in the Concrete” along with the solo exhibition “Isaac Julien: Playtime”—will showcase 50 works from the Linda Pace Foundation’s collection. Among the artists to  feature are Do Ho Suh, Leonardo Drew, Teresita Fernández, Wangechi Mutu, Cornelia Parker, and Pace herself.

Kelly O’Connor, head of collections and communications for Ruby City, told ARTnews, “Not only did Linda have close, personal relationships with many of the artists in the collection, but she also worked with trustee and curator of our inaugural exhibition, Kathryn Kanjo, as a close advisor on acquisitions. We are fortunate to have this continuity in our collection and its programming.”

The exhibitions—curated by Kanjo, director and CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego—will show in Ruby City’s 14,472-square-foot space. In a statement, Kanjo said of the collection’s founder, “Linda spent her mature life creating, collecting and working to amplify San Antonio’s art scene. She would be very proud to see her grand idea come to life in this meaningful way.”
