Meghan Markle hosted her first major event at Kensington Palace on Thursday, and it went off without a hitch.
The Duchess of Sussex celebrated publication of a cookbook that she collaborated on. Prince Harry and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, were by the former actresses’ side to support her.
Harry sweetly lent his support when Meghan was talking to some of her cookbook co-authors and a gust of wind blew her hair. When she couldn’t keep it off her face, the prince gently brushed it aside for her.
After the cute gesture, Harry rested his chin on Meghan’s shoulder as she continued her conversations with the women.
Prince Charming, indeed:
The cookbook project was inspired by the Duchess of Sussex’s work with the other women, survivors of the catastrophic 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London, cooking at the Hubb Community Kitchen.
Kensington Palace revealed Monday that Meghan joined the group in January, a few months after announcing her engagement to Harry and moving to London. She wrote the foreword for the cookbook, Together: Our Community Cookbook. All proceeds will benefit the Hubb Community Kitchen.
“I’m so privileged to know you. Working on this project for the past nine months has been a tremendous labor of love,” Meghan said at Thursday’s event, in a clip posted by ITV’s Chris Ship.
“I have just recently moved to London and I felt so immediately embraced by this kitchen, [by] your warmth and kindness, and also to be able to be in this city and to see in this one small room how multicultural it was.”
