Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.
Today’s show: “Tennessee Williams: Playwright and Painter” is on view at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU in Miami Beach through Sunday, October 7. The solo exhibition presents nine paintings by the Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright best known for his works set throughout the South including The Glass Menagerie (1944), A Streetcar Named Desire (1947), and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955). The show draws from the collection of David Wolkowsky, who was a close friend of Williams, and it is the first time many of these works have been exhibited outside of Key West, Florida.
