By now we’ve all heard the story of Carlee Russell – the Alabama woman who went missing just moments after reporting a wandering child on a local freeway.

After Russell’s safe return, she reported to police that she was abducted, forced to strip naked, and had pictures taken of her. She also doesn’t know where she was taken or who her abductors were.
The initial reaction from most people after learning of Russell’s disappearance was shock and concern. The 25-year-old had the sympathy of an entire nation as people frantically posted on social media about the possible abduction. After returning home just over 48 hours later, on foot, relief settled in as it appeared that this was the happiest possible outcome for the bizarre story.
But then the police released their report after an initial investigation – and now everyone is basically wondering what the hell is going on.
We don’t know either, but we did find some funny tweets about the crazy incident on Twitter!
According to Alabama Police Chief Derzis, Russell can be seen leaving her job before the abduction with a concealed bathrobe, toilet paper, and other personal items. They also claim that Russell’s Google search history days before the event referenced “Do you have to pay for an Amber Alert” and the movie Taken, which is a film about a man’s daughter being kidnapped.
Before we get to those tweets, I want to include the caveat, and make it very clear, that I personally hope Carlee is OK. Regardless of if she was actually abducted, I just want her to get whatever treatment she needs, and we all want her to know that most good-natured people really just want her to be happy and healthy.
