Nino Mier Gallery, which has one space in Cologne and two in Los Angeles, will open a third in the Californian city later this month. Located at 7277 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, the new gallery was once home to a fashion showroom and occupies 5,000 square feet. The first exhibition planned for the 7277 Santa Monica Boulevard gallery is a Celeste Dupuy-Spencer solo show scheduled to open on September 22.
“It’s such an iconic building in West Hollywood,” Nino Mier, the gallery’s owner, said by phone from Germany. The ivy-covered building was once owned by the fashion brand Church, and to find such an historical space in the neighborhood was “virtually impossible,” Mier added. He hopes the building will allow the artists on his gallery’s slate to realize more ambitious and larger-scale project.
Nino Mier Gallery first opened in Los Angeles in 2015 and initially focused its programming on artists from the Rhineland region. It currently operates two galleries in West Hollywood, as well as a project space in Cologne. Currently listed on Nino Mier Gallery’s roster are André Butzer, Dupuy-Spencer, Tomasz Kowalski, and Jana Schröder, among others.
