- Exclusive Four-Part Series Profiles U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team Captain on and off the field
- First two episodes available now on ESPN+
- From Award-Winning Producer/Director Hannah Lux Davis and ESPN
The first two episodes of The Equalizer, a new four-part series featuring U.S. soccer star Alex Morgan, is available now on ESPN+, the leading sports streaming service.
The Equalizer provides fans with a behind-the-scenes, up-close look at Morgan, the U.S. Women’s National Team Captain, as she prepares for and plays in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The series also tells the story of Morgan’s background and rise to prominence on soccer’s world stage, as well as her efforts off the field as a role model for girls and a trailblazer for the future of women’s sports.
“The game of soccer has been a huge part of my life and it is such a privilege to represent our country and female athletes as part of the U.S. Women’s National Team,” said Morgan. “I have had incredible role models to look to and learn from and it’s important to me to pay that forward. I want the young women out there dreaming about this game to see what they can achieve. But, working with Hannah and ESPN+ on this series, I also want to show them the determination, fortitude and hard work – both on and off the field – that go into chasing that dream. I hope my story can connect with young women and that I can be a part of building the path for the next generation of the game.”
Directed by Hannah Lux Davis – an award-winning filmmaker best known for her work with top musicians Ariana Grande, Halsey, Ciara, Nicki Minaj, David Guetta and more – first two episodes of The Equalizer are available now on ESPN+, with episodes 3 & 4 coming in July.
“I’m so honored to be able to give a bit of life to such an important story,” said Lux Davis. “Alex’s voice speaks volumes in this documentary. As she embarks on her journey to the World Cup, she has built a platform for women everywhere. I am excited to have partnered with her and ESPN+ to share her incredible story and I can’t wait to see them take home the Cup.”
