New York’s Tanya Bonakdar Gallery is now the United States representative for Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg, the Swedish-born, Berlin-based duo who makes captivating stop-motion films using objects made out of clay, fabric, and sundry other materials. (Djurberg handles the animation, Berg the music.) The pair had previously worked with the now-closed Zach Feuer gallery in New York, where they last had a show in 2013.
Djurberg and Berg appeared in the 2009 Venice Biennale and the 2010 Cairo Biennale, and in 2011 had a touring show in the U.S. that stopped at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the New Museum in New York, and the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Later this year they’ll have a solo outing at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm that is slated to run from June 16 to September 9.
