The New Art Dealers Alliance is perhaps known best for organizing art fairs in Miami and New York each year, but this summer it will debut its first non-fair exhibition on Governors Island in New York. Titled “Close Quarters,” the show features work by artists represented by eight of NADA galleries and runs from July 1 to 29.
“Close Quarters” will be shown across two floors of House 403, a Colonial Revival–style building that has quite a bit of history. Opened in 1904, the house has played host to a number of important visitors, including U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, who once met there.
“We look forward to amplifying NADA’s year-round programming by creating new opportunities to showcase contemporary art in fresh environments,” Heather Hubbs, the executive director of NADA, said in a statement. “It’s a unique opportunity for NADA to organize a show on Governors Island, and we’re excited to welcome visitors to this beautiful historic landmark, and to continue to collaborate with Governors Island in the future.”
