Children’s educator and content creator Ms. Rachel is responding to critics after receiving negative comments via social media for speaking out about Nolan Wells and other humanitarian and political happenings in the United States and around the world. In a new Instagram post, she defended using her platform to advocate for children and human rights, saying she will not stay silent.

Ms. Rachel says caring for children has always been part of her mission. In the Instagram post, Ms. Rachel shared several critical comments she has received. One person told her to “stay in your lane and sing kid’s songs.” She replied simply, “No.” Another commenter said they preferred her when she “sang on YouTube.” Ms. Rachel responded that she “never sang on YouTube” and said she has “always cared about how children around the world are treated.”

She also pushed back against accusations that she was becoming political. “It’s political to recognize the humanity of every child, every person, to want their human rights to be respected, and to support policies that reflect those beliefs,” she wrote. “I’ve always been political.” Addressing questions about why she has become controversial, Ms. Rachel added, “Being against genocide isn’t controversial. Being silent about it is.”
The post comes after she publicly expressed support for Nolan Wells, whose death remains under investigation. Wells’ family has called for a full and transparent investigation, while an independent autopsy has raised additional questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Ms. Rachel has increasingly used her platform to speak on issues affecting children worldwide, including humanitarian crises and child welfare.
