COURTESY THE ARTIST AND MORÁN MORÁN

Artist Eve Fowler has joined the slate of Los Angeles’s Morán Morán gallery, which will present its first show with her in September 2019.

Fowler, who is based in L.A., is best known for her work involving poetic groupings of text, often arranged in visually dynamic ways and presented in sans-serif fonts. These tough-to-interpret text hint at narratives and sometimes seem to contain feminist commentary. Fowler has frequently cited the poet Gertrude Stein as an influence on her work.

Some of her work appeared at Nino Mier gallery in Los Angeles earlier this year, and it has also been featured in solo exhibitions at Participant Inc in New York, ArtSpace in Sydney, and Fourteen30 Contemporary in Portland, Oregon.
