New York’s Galerie Lelong & Co. now represents Michelle Stuart, an American multimedia artist known mainly for her photographic collages, which were displayed at the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017. Her best-known work is the site-specific piece Niagara Gorge Path Relocated (1975), a 460-foot-long paper scroll blanketed over an escarpment on which Niagara Falls was situated thousands of years ago. The gallery has planned its first solo show with Stuart for February 2019.

Mary Sabbatino, a vice president and partner at Lelong, said in a release: “We are pleased to welcome Michelle Stuart in joining other canonical artists in our program who investigate the human condition as it exists in history and contemporary life. She has always been present in ongoing dialogues in the arts about body and landscape, and we are proud to support her amidst a growing urgency for the depth and breadth of her work to be fully recognized.”
