Cameran Mason, who most recently served as vice president for resources and public affairs at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, will join the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in July as chief development officer. In her new role, Mason will manage museum development and board relations, fundraising, gifts, donor stewardship, and capital campaigns.

“The Museum plays a critical role as a place for inspiration, exchange and civil discourse, and the need for leading cultural institutions like the MFA to bring people, art and ideas together has never been greater,” Mason said in a statement. “I look forward to collaborating with Matthew Teitelbaum and the MFA team, and to working with the Museum’s wonderful supporters to advance the MFA as Boston’s most dynamic hub for art and engagement with the issues of our time.”

In her time at Wellesley, Mason has overseen the college’s $500 million “Campaign to Advance the Wellesley Effect,” an initiative intended to grow the college’s influence. She was also previously vice president for institutional advancement at Barnard College and associate vice president for development and university relations and director of campaign resources at Fordham University.
