Meghan Markle is celebrating Thanksgiving a day early this year.
According to People, on Wednesday the Duchess of Sussex visited the survivors of last year’s Grenfell Tower tragedy in London at the community kitchen, which she previously supported in her first major role as a royal family member.
Markle, 37, who is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry, was greeted at the Al Manaar Community Center by Zaheera Sufyaan from the Hubb Kitchen and Abdurahman Sayed, head of the Al Manaar Heritage Center.

Their joint fundraising book — Together: Our Community Cookbook, quickly became a bestseller; selling over 40,000 copies in the U.K., and already raising $270,000 in the seven weeks since it went on sale. It’s also made tens of thousands more in international sales.
The duchess, launched the cookbook along with the women who created the recipes at a special Kensington Palace back in September, with her mother, Doria Ragland by her side while Harry tried to quietly sample the treats on display.

“Last summer, a group of women gathered in a communal kitchen at the Al Manaar community centre in West London, where they could prepare fresh food for their families, friends and neighbours. As they cooked together and shared recipes, as a community they began to connect, heal and look forward,” explains the royal foundation’s website.
“Word spread and more women joined in – this was the start of the Hubb Community Kitchen,” the statement continues. “Thanks to the proceeds of Together, supported by The Royal Foundation and published by Penguin Random House companies, the Kitchen has been completely redesigned and re-fitted, with the women’s input, to capture the joyful spirit of the Hubb Community Kitchen as a place to bring the community together over food.”
