Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill will file a lawsuit against the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, accusing the property of racial discrimination.
The “You Stay” artist recently shared cellphone footage of hotel management refusing to allow him to enter the building because of certain “information” they have on the MC. When Meek and his associates ask for details, management refuses to answer directly.
“Cosmopolitan hotel/casino going to extreme racist levels to keep too many black entertainers and black people [out],” Meek wrote on Instagram. “They said they gone lock me up.. I’m like for what I’ve been once to a party with jayz ….. Some of these casinos have a bunch of tactics to keep the level of blacks down …. but love to take our money!!!! This happens to a lot of black entertainers not just me either!! I felt crazy being put out by these white men for no reason!”
Meek later tweeted that the casino denied him entry after claiming a pool party that was already at capacity. The MC, who had no intentions of attending the pool party, isn’t buying it.
TMZ now reports that the MMG spitter will be seeking “heavy monetary damages” for “lying and humiliating Meek,” according to his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, who added, “I’m going to take this place down because of what they did.”
The attorney said there is a list of rappers many Vegas hotels have quietly banned, which includes Meek, Yo Gotti and BlocBoy JB, who say Vegas hotels have denied them because of their race and profession.
