Gospel music fans are in for a treat because Martha Munizzi is in the building! She joined The Nightly Spirit to discuss her revelations, personal trials, and the mission behind her upcoming album.
The conversation took an immediate emotional turn as Munizzi recounted a tragic loss and a recent accident that put her faith to the test, leading to the new music—as Darlene puts it, “fortifying and anointing” the lyrics.
“My mother-in-law suddenly passed away… it was just a blow,” she shared. As if that weren’t enough, Munizzi and her husband were recently involved in a six-car pileup. “Then two weeks ago, we were in an accident…Right before the accident, I was fussing at my husband, and then—boom—[it] happened. And suddenly, nothing else mattered…We were alive, and God was in control,” she reflected.
This experience became a powerful backdrop for her new single, He’s in Control. “You can sing it all day, but do you really believe it?” she said, reinforcing the message behind the song.

Munizzi also discussed her album Church is Revival, inspired by her and her husband’s experience as pastors. She highlighted the changing landscape of church attendance post-pandemic, noting, “30% of people haven’t returned to church. Thank God for online services, but there’s nothing like being in the presence of a body of believers.”
With an album rooted in faith, perseverance, and revival, Munizzi’s message is clear: God is always in control!
