Magazzino Italian Art Foundation, a museum located in upstate Cold Spring, New York that is devoted to postwar and contemporary art from that country, is establishing a new Research Center with some 4,000 publications accessible for study, as well as a new annual fellowship program.

The first scholar-in-residence is Francesco Guzzetti, who recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University. Guzetti told ARTnews, “It is a true privilege to expand my research on Arte Povera and work directly with the art installed in the museum and the new Research Center library.”

Guzzetti will give tours of Magazzino, which exhibits art from the collection of Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu in a gleaming white 20,000-square-foot building that opened in 2017. He is also organizing cultural programs such as an upcoming talk with artist Mel Bochner and a presentation of Phaidon’s recent book on the artist Jannis Kounellis. “Magazzino is building a lively cultural community, which I am happy to be part of,” Guzzetti said.
