Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.

Today’s show: “Kindred Spirits: Louise Nevelson & Dorothy Hood” is on view at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston through Sunday, February 3. The two-person exhibition presents a range of work in various mediums by both artists that “encapsulates each artist’s evolution across four decades and reveals the subtle affinities that link these two bodies of work,” according to a press release. Though both artists began showing their work in the early 1940s, “there is no documentation that the two artists became personally acquainted.” (They would have been aware of each of other by 1969 when Nevelson had a survey at the the MFA Houston; Hood was a professor at the museum’s school.)
