Longhorn Network, ESPN’s 24-hour network devoted to The University of Texas, will air a dozen women’s games during the 2018-19 basketball preseason and regular season, including several conference showdowns.
The television slate starts with Texas GameDay at 6 p.m. CT on October 17, leading into Texas Tip-Off Presented by Coors Light at Gregory Gym at 6:30 p.m. Manning the Texas GameDay desk and calling the Texas Tip-Off action are LHN anchor/host Lowell Galindo and analyst Lance Blanks.
The Longhorns host West Texas A&M in an exhibition game before tipping off the season on Nov. 8 against Duquesne. LHN is the home of six Big 12 battles for UT, including Oklahoma State (Jan. 2), Oklahoma (Jan. 9), TCU (Jan. 19), Kansas (Jan. 23), Texas Tech (Feb. 23) and Iowa State (Mar 2).
The Longhorns are coming off a 28-7 season, which saw UT advance to their fourth consecutive Sweet 16. The Longhorns finished second in the Big 12 and advanced to the championship game of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship. Texas has been ranked in the top 15 in several preseason polls.
Details regarding Longhorn Network studio programming and talent will be announced in the coming weeks.
