As an opportunity for Texas fans to pay their respects and honor a Longhorn Legend, the Celebration of Life service for Augie Garrido will air live on Longhorn Network on Monday, April 9 at 3 p.m. ET. The service, which is open to the public, will take place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. In addition to the Longhorn Network telecast, the service will be available to stream on ESPN3 via the ESPN App.
The College Baseball Hall of Famer appeared on a number of programs on LHN during his time at the University of Texas, including Home Plate with Augie Garrido, which will re-air immediately following the Celebration of Life service. LHN put together a special lineup of programming to salute Garrido following the news of his passing, including the half-hour Augie Garrido Tribute.
The winningest coach in college baseball history, Garrido led the Longhorns to two College World Series crowns (2002, 2005), in addition to his three national titles with Cal State Fullerton (1979, 1984, 1995).
