Lizzo’s litty about crushing her fitness goals. The “Good As Hell” singer posted a recent selfie to Instagram showing that she’s accomplished her weight loss number. Born Melissa Jefferson, the 36-year-old posed in workout gear with a graphic saying “Congratulations, you’ve met your weight goals.”
“Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal,” she captioned the post. “I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”

Lizzo has been ridiculed for embracing her full figure. On her album cover for 2019’s Cuz I Love You Lizzo is nude, which led to her being bullied online.
“It is vulnerable, but vulnerable doesn’t have to be scary, and vulnerable doesn’t have to mean insecure,” she told the Recording Academy.  “Vulnerability and strength is what this album is all about. So the fact that I am the most comfortable when I’m naked and I’m sitting in this really comfortable position in a supposedly vulnerable state, it just kind of defines the album and sums it up.”
That same year, Lizzo was widely criticized for attending a Lakers game in a thong and T-shirt dress with a cutout that showed her backside. She twerked along to her song “Juice” when it was played in the arena and shot her shot at then-Timberwolves player Karl Anthony Towns. Despite the criticism, Lizzo continued to advocate for body positivity, and in 2022, she founded the fitness brand Yitty. In 2024, she added a swim line, saying she’d moved from ‘body positivity’ to ‘body neutrality,’ and started documenting her fitness routine on social media.
“I’m taking the time every day to put some love into my body,” she told The New York Times. “There is never a day when I regret taking a walk or doing some Pilates.”
She added, “I’ve been methodical. I’ve been losing weight very slowly.”
Now those efforts have paid off. Another graphic shows a loss of over 10% in body mass index and16% in body fat, both great numbers in a fitness journey.
While several haters had their say, a number of fellow celebs congratulated Lizzo in the comments.
‘Yes Queen you can show ’em better than you can tell ’em,” Da Brat posted. “Do YOU!”
Nick Cannon said, “Congratulations, Queen.”
Late last year, Lizzo posted this which seems like a good time to revisit in light of her success at becoming healthier and living on her own terms.
“I don’t know about ya’ll but I’m back to living life like a person who has flaws and feelings and makes mistakes but is inherently good like everyone else…and not a monolith for the virtue police to shame.”
