Thomas Galbraith has joined Leslie Hindman Auctioneers as the firm’s CEO, taking over the role from Leslie Hindman herself, who is stepping back to serve as chair of the board.

Galbraith’s appointment comes following an investment in the company from a private-equity firm that is aimed at funding large-scale growth, the company said. It declined to identify the investor.

Leslie Hindman said in a release, We are extremely excited to have Thomas join us as CEO. With his experience at the cross section of technology and art, and his reputation as a thought leader in the industry, we are poised for future expansion.”

Galbraith, who co-founded the consulting firm the Petraeus Group, has served as managing director of Paddle8 and director of global strategy for Artnet, and most recently was the interim CEO of the Google Ventures startup, Twyla. He said in the release, “Leslie has built a formidable organization and I very much look forward to working with the talented team and bringing a new level of innovation to the industry.”
