WAMU 88.5’s The Kojo Nnamdi Show will host a free town hall event focused on local entrepreneurship and its impact on the community and residents of Ward 8.
The public forum titled, “Kojo in Your Community: Entrepreneurship East of the River” will be held from 6-8 p.m., July 30 at the Anacostia Playhouse, located at 2020 Shannon Pl, S.E. Washington, D.C.
Kojo Nnamdi, is the award-winning radio show host of The Kojo Nnamdi Show, a live talk show produced by WAMU 88.5 that airs weekdays at noon. He also hosts The Politics Hour on WAMU 88.5 that airs on Fridays at noon.
Offering advice on launching a local business, the event will provide an opportunity for community members to discuss entrepreneurship, the local job market and issues that affect area residents.
The event is part of the “Kojo in Your Community” series, which gives residents a chance to voice their ideas and concerns for where they live.
The discussion will cover several topics, including new economic growth in Ward 8, how up-and-coming businesses will affect the community and new opportunities for business owners and job seekers. The event will be recorded and later aired on WAMU 88.5 FM on the Kojo Nnamdi Show.
