GROWING IN LOVE
Love is hard. It means sacrificing our own priorities for those of another. It goes against our natural flesh instincts. In and of ourselves, love is not our matural reaction or response to the people around us. We have to grow in love and we can only learn this properly from the God who is inherently love.
Without God, we are in capable of truly loving. We can try our hardest to be people who love one another, but sooner or later we will fail at it if we don’t have God’s heart in us.
Scripture:
1 John 4:17 NLT
As we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgement, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
Prayer:
Lord god, I want to represent your heart to the world. I know that I am not yet perfect in love. I need you to love others through me. I need to see others through your eyes so I can love them flawlessly as you do. Remove my heart of stone and give me a heart of flesh that beats with your love for this world and everyone in it.
